about

Theme song to the early 70's cop drama "McTavish,” following a handsome, edgy cop in grimy Detroit. His name is McTavish. He grew up hard on the streets, but somewhere down the line decided to flip and join the police force’s detective unit. No one is exactly sure why, he doesn't talk much, but some guess that it has to do with watching his mother die at the hands of his drunken father - a man fully entrenched in the seedy underbelly of gambling, robbery and drugs. But changing his past is easier said than done - not that McTavish has ever fully tried, he keeps one foot in the underworld and one in the law. Perhaps that's why he's so good at getting his man. Perhaps that's why he's a brooding, sleepless loner, consumed by his work and all the pain he sees. McTavish doesn't have time for a woman, yet is always the protector of a woman in distress. His methods tow the line, his motivations murky and troubled, but no one can deny his natural ability to bring justice in an unjust city.
